‘Ulu is a carbon-capturing starchy tropical fruit that makes one of the best gluten-free flours around, with three times the fiber of all-purpose flour! Not only does ʻulu flour provide a wonderful texture in baked goods, it is an incredible soup and sauce thickener! It is nutritious, allergen-free, and sustainable.
This breadfruit flour is an excellent all natural, gluten-free flour for baking breads, pastries, or desserts. This product can also be used to thicken soups and stews or as a breading for frying or baking meats and vegetables.
This flour is made by the Hawaiian 'Ulu Co-op on the Big island of Hawaii. Made of over 100 farmer members. They use fruit harvested at the optimal maturity stage to produce a flour that is nutrient-rich, delicious, and faintly sweet and fruity.
